A Long-Standing Family Business
David Ferran and Sons was founded in the 1930’s by brothers David and Samuel Ferran. Today, the company remains an independent family firm. We are a light towage, line-handling and mooring contractor in the Port of Belfast and Port of Larne. The company also provides pilot boat and towage services at the Kilroot Power Station Jetty in Belfast Lough, as well as crew and supply transportation to vessels at anchorage in the vicinity of Bangor Bay and Belfast Lough.
We have a fleet of three tug/workboats with bollard pulls ranging from 2 to 14.8 tonnes available to carry out towage and mooring work, offering a 365 days a year, 24 hours a day service.
Much of this work involves the towage of small and medium sized ships and attending to rope running and mooring.
There are two sister companies Ferran Port Services Ltd and Ferran Marine Services Ltd . These companies were set up for the purpose of undertaking marine services contracts.

Ferran Marine Services Ltd was set up to run the Department of Social Developement River Lagan and Weir Management Team by way of the supply and management of the Boatmen. This contract ran for approximately two terms of 3 years.
